These are the everyday tasks that caregivers are eligible to get paid to help with through the Home Help Program.
These are the hands-on tasks that help your loved one with their daily routine, like bathing, getting dressed, eating, and moving around safely.
Medication Assistance
Reminders and physical help taking prescribed medications on schedule.
Keeping the home clean, meals prepared, groceries stocked, and laundry done. These tasks make sure your loved one's home stays safe and comfortable.
Specialized care that goes beyond everyday help and requires extra training or a specialist's approval. This can include managing bowel programs, caring for catheters or leg bags, colostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, range-of-motion exercises, wound care, suctioning, and other specialized skin or feeding care. If your loved one needs this level of care, we'll walk you through what training is required.
The state determines which tasks get approved based on your loved one's needs. We walk you through the entire process from start to first paycheck.
How It Works
Please note:Which tasks are approved and how many hours you receive are determined by the state based on your loved one's individual assessment. Listing a task on this page does not guarantee it will be authorized for every person. This site is operated by an enrolled Home Help agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by MDHHS.
